LG VX8600 Black Phone (Verizon Wireless, Phone Only, No Service)

Review: Love / Hate relationship
by: John S on date: June 26, 2007
I have to say that I love this phone (in concept). It is very sleek. It has a great MP3 player. I find it very easy to use. The battery life is really good too.

The only problem is that it keeps breaking on me!

Phone number 1 purchased in December of 2006 had a malfunctioning vibrate mode. Sometimes it worked, sometimes it didn't. This phone was returned to the store after about 3 months of service.

Phone number 2 had ridiculously bad reception even in areas that I once got excellent reception. This phone dropped calls more often than I would have successful calls. It was reprogrammed once by Verizon without any beneficial outcome, unless random power-cycles are considered beneficial. Within the month, I returned this phone.

Phone number three has been with me since around May. The reception on this phone has been exceptional! Unfortunately, after a little over a month or so of use the external speaker has started to sound muffled and rattled as if the paper cone on an acoustic speaker was torn. If this were the only problem... I would probably live with this phone. Unfortunately, the original problem of a defective vibrate mode has cropped up once again. I would live with this defect too except I have missed some very important phone calls. Sigh...

At least Verizon has been a good sport about returning these defective phones... but what a pain!

All in all... I really, truly, love this phone (when it works right). :-(

Review: An Honest Review from an actual VX8600 owner
by: P. Strauss on date: June 21, 2007
Let me start this review by saying I'm not a tween and a phone's looks aren't all I care about. I've had this phone for less than a week and I'm going to be trading it in for the VX8300.

Let's get this out of the way, the phone is nice looking. Probably the best looking Verizon phone available. Unfortunately most of us don't use a phone for its looks. It does have all sorts of nice features which you can read about in the product description provided by amazon.

My issues with phone are these. It has a speakerphone but it is absolutely useless. Toggling between speakerphone and earpiece produce minimal difference. I use the speakerphone in my car, this one is practically unusable. Volume of the earpiece is super loud, this can be a pro or a con. However, I often got an echo when I talked, sort of tunnel like. Never had that problem with any of my othe phones

Perhaps the most bothersome thing about the phone is the strange high frequency pitch you can hear when you put your ear. Whenever the screen is on, either lit or not you can hear a high pitch buzzing. After the screen goes blank it disapears. I had thought it was a defective phone but all 4 of the display models at the verizon store had the same issue. Now it may not bother you but it's like a mosquito buzzing to me. The vx8300 doesn't have this problem. On a side note one of the 2 display KRZRs in the store had the same problem.

One final thought...LG doesn't use the standard size headphone jack so unless you got bluetooth you need to plug in a lame dongle which in my opinion defeats the purpose of portability

Pros:
Nice looking
Full featured
great size
decent battery life
loud earpiece
good reception

Cons:
Worthless speakerphone
Annoying "mosquito buzzing" sound from the display
dongle adapter
crazy loud earpiece
Frequent echoing

Just my 2 cents.

Review: Great Phone, why no stopwatch or timer?
by: Chethan Sarabu on date: June 21, 2007
This is definitely one of the best phones I've used; it has an awesome sleek style. All the menus are easy to access and you can even change the themes of the menus which is pretty cool. However, I was wondering why there wasn't any included stopwatch or timer, seemed odd that they didn't have one.

Review: Awful, Flimsy Phone
by: Dan Farmer on date: June 16, 2007
I received this as a first phone for Christmas, and since then I have been very unhappy. It is extremely unreliable, and has broken down 3 times in six months. Also, it is absurd ly flimsy, and, overall, is a rip off.

Review: Absolutely, no problems
by: J. Drews on date: June 15, 2007
I wanted to wait a while before writing the review. I have had this phone for 4 months now, with no problems whatsoever. The battery life is spectacular, however I usually charge it every night. The design is perfect and easy to navigate. This is a MUCH better phone the the RAZR. I have heard nothing but horror stories when it comes to that phone, however I have heard nothing but great things about this phone. That should tell you something. Even Verizon thought I should get ANY other phone then the RAZR. That is a bad sign to me. I have always had an LG phone, and never have had a problem. I have not had 1 problem in the four months I have had this phone, so if you are looking for a thin light phone, comparable and much better then a RAZR, stop looking. You've found it.

Review: Nice phone, so far
by: Gary Pan on date: June 13, 2007
My wife and I bought these phones about two weeks ago. We tried to buy two phones through Amazon, but it took a month for Amazon to figure out they couldn't get one of the phones, which held up the entire order. Really annoying! We are going through a similar wait for a bluetooth headset right now. It will be interesting to see how long that one takes...

On to the phones (which we bought directly from Verizon, got a good deal, and great service on-the-spot, ported our phone numbers to the new phones right then, and we were on-our way). One of the main features I was looking for was a way to organize my several hundred business contacts. After having the contacts transferred into this phone, I found out that you can only group them into groups of 10 (which is insufficient for my purposes). From the factory, the phone has a more sophisticated contact sorter, but Verizon wants you to use it for sending group text messages, and their software can only accommodate 10 at a time, so they have re-programmed the phone with that limit (as explained by the tech at the Verizon store). If I want the sophisticated contact management, I have to buy a PDA (which I don't really need) and an additional $40-per-month plan (which I also don't need) in order to service the high-end equipment. Strike one for Verizon.

The other negative of the phone function is that it gives you virtually NO warning when the battery is about to die. If you are in the middle of call and not closely monitoring the battery meter, the phone will just shut off. The tech at the Verizon store said all LG phones do this. He said there should be a (very faint) sound effect of some kind about 10 seconds before shut off, but I haven't heard it yet. This is something I'll have to learn to deal with, plus I'll probably keep myself armed with extra chargers or batteries on hand.

Otherwise, this phone is great. Sound quality is superb, haven't had weak or lost signal at all during calls (which is why we switched to Verizon from Cingular in the first place), the phone is nice looking and feeling. Except for that "contacts" issue, the features are great. I recommend this phone.

Review: A Good Phone That Was Almost Great
by: A. Shih on date: June 9, 2007
I really like the phone. This is not a negative review. The list of things I don't like is shorter, so I went with that list instead. Otherwise, I really like the phone.

1. I'm not sure if this is just my phone, but I have problems with fast forwarding when using the MP3 player. Sometimes while listening to MP3s, I get interrupted, like with a phone call or if I have to talk to someone. I don't mind that the phone doesn't always remember where I left off, but I find that if I try to fast forward to the part where I left off, if I go past that point, the MP3 would start playing from the beginning, even though the time tracking shows that I'm suppose to be at the right place. I'm using an OEM microSD card. I don't know if that makes a difference.

2. There seems to be a lag when navigating menus, but mainly noticeable because I am impatient.

3. The special plug that handles both the headset, the power adapter, and acts as a USB port (actually, I guess that makes it a USB port) is positioned a bit awkwardly for me and makes it difficult to do more than one of the things listed at a time.

4. The little plastic flaps that cover the USB port and the microSD port are really flimsy. Good thing I don't use it much. I'm sure it'll fall off eventually.

5. Minor nitpick, but I don't like how the messaging forces you to jump through hoops (in my mind at least) to pick from your contacts. You choose new message, then select one of 5 spaces to put a contact (not sure if it's possible to go beyond 5 because I never tried), choose if you want to enter manually, select from contact list, etc., select the contact, then rinse and repeat, and finally say you're done before getting to the message.

Other than that, the buttons are great, I'm happy with the battery, I don't have problems with static or reception or echoes, etc. Almost a great phone...

Great phone. Features are exactly what I am looking for. If finger prints and smudges annoy you then you probably want to look for another phone.

Review: Great Phone that I Highly Recommend!!
by: J. Allen on date: June 1, 2007
My last 2 phones have been LG brand phones. I have Verizon Wireless. The LG phones have all been wonderful phones and I have had no problems with them.

I bought this phone in Oct 2006. It has lived up to the LG that I have come to know. The calls are clear and battery life is great for a phone this thin. I use the Bluetooth feature to make calls through my car stereo and it works flawlessly. I have not had any problems at all. I even dropped it once on concrete (my heart stopped as I watched it bounce a few times). That was 2 months ago, and the phone still works great.

If I had to list a down side, it would be that the phone is glossy and shows fingerprints and smudges well. These are easily removed, so it does not bother me much at all.

If you are considering a slim phone and have Verizon, I highly recommend getting this phone. My wife had a RAZR and had tons of problems with it. You won't go wrong with this phone.

Review: I love this phone!
by: Ellie Ann on date: May 29, 2007
This phone is gorgeous! It is like a sexier version of the razr or krzr. I like everything about it except:

Reception is not always great, it tends to drop a few of my calls but I think it's mostly because I live in an area of patchy service.

The keys take a little bit of getting used to because its a smooth key pad and it's very easy to hit keys you did not mean to.

Fingerprint magnet. Not really a problem though, most of the new phones are.

Other than those, the sound quality is great, the screens are bright and clear. I like having the ability to program 4 shortcut keys. The camera is not exactly spectacular but thats what I expected with 1.3mp. I have dropped the phone a couple of times and been pleasantly surprised that it shows no dents or scratches.

I would definitely buy this phone again.

Review: Beware of its Bluetooth
by: Donald P. Larson on date: May 2, 2007
Bought this at a verizon store and it looked and worked great. within an hour the bluetooth headset (LG) stopped producing audio. After testing a different headset (Plantronics) the store determined that phone was bad. The second phone seemed to set up OK, but static made the bluetooth unusable. Returned it and am currently searching for another brand. Expect this one will have a recall on it soon. Other than that the features seemed really cool. Opening the phone seemed awkward, had to open from sides.

Review: Sure beats my last one
by: John N. Schear on date: April 15, 2007
My first cell phone was a 1980s 20 pounder. This one is wonderful. I have only used it for a couple of weeks and am quite impressed with the results. When I call, it goes to the called. When called, I can converse with ease. The other bells and whistles are fine, but I have little use for them now. I am disappointed with the Verizon Website and its poor quality. I expected more from one of the nations largest companies. Maybe I speak too soon; however, I have yet been able to receive any detailed billing even though the bill has passed. I have attempted to establish One-bill but cannot get it to work. I almost bought a bluetooth device but luckily read the Amazon comments and found that you have to be absolutely certain that it works with the Verizon system. Caution is suggested. As I become more experienced I will update with specificity that makes more sense. I hope.

Review: Minor gripes aside, a very sexy and functional fliptop phone from LG
by: Andy Kim on date: April 7, 2007
The LG VX8600 has garnered a lot of positive reviews (use Google), and while I won't go as far as to say this is the best cell phone ever made, it is quite functional and serves the added benefit of having a sleek, sexy form factor that elicits many "oohs" and "aahs" from relatives and peers.

I've spent two years with Sprint and Cingular apiece, and am now moving to mighty Verizon as the last of the mighty mobile phone triumvirate. I won't comment on signal strength since that's largely dependent on location, but I will say that the local Verizon sales rep in Madison, WI hooked me up with a terrific deal that beat any online price even after rebates and activation fees. Don't forget to ask your sales rep to see if they can match or beat these online offers.

Despite being a fully VCAST-compliant phone that sports mp3 playback and a 1.3-megapixel camera, all I really care about is the ability to make crystal-clear phone calls. The sound quality for voice calls overall is very good to excellent, depending on signal strength of course. In many cases, friends could not distinguish my phone from a land line. However, as many others have observed, the speakerphone is below average. Even at the loudest levels, voices sound diluted and unclear to the point I find them unbearable. I definitely recommend you try the speakerphone out if you it will be an important factor in your purchase decision. Many other Amazon reviewers, as well as those on other forums, have echoed similar comments.

To get by the speakerphone limitation, I paired this phone with the PLANTRONICS 510 Voyager bluetooth headset, and the combination has worked out great. I bought the 510 due to all of the positive reviews; it's a very sturdy, comfortable headset but doesn't surpass the clarity of using the handset directly (I don't think any of the bluetooth sets can).

One of the usability gripes I have is with voice commands. On my previous Motorola phone, I could activate voice commands just by pressing a button on my bluetooth headset and talking into the phone device directly. On the VX8600, I have to press a small button on the right side of the phone to activate the voice command menu, and then speak into my headset. If you put the LG VX8600 in a leather case and strap it to your belt, you'll realize what a nuisance this can be each time you want to make a voice command dial.

Another gripe is the fact that the front panel backlight only turns on when you press any of the side buttons. That means if you want to view the date/time you have to press a button each and every time. That may sound like the ultimate in laziness, but I'll put it this way -- there's no way to tell that the phone is dead or fully charged until you press a button. All of my other flip-top phones have had the date/time display persisently.

I don't really care much for cameras built into phones; much like stereo and home theater surround sound systems, I'm a believer in dedicated separates. I cannot comment on the music playing or VCAST capabilities of this phone, since I already own an iPod.

Overall, I still enjoy this phone immensely and do recommend it to others switching to Verizon or renewing their contracts. Please note that the next version to the VX8600 (SHINE) has already been released online as of April 4, and will be available in local stores on April 17. I prefer sticking to a black form factor and will definitely make this a keeper for the next two years.

PROS:
+ Great sound quality for voice calls (not using speakerphone)
+ Very sleek, sexy form factor
+ Above average battery life (this is relative to previous phones, of course)
+ Large, easy to read menus
+ Voice command settings were easy to configure; voice "train" was reliable and almost 100% accurate in recognizing my commands

CONS:
+ Weak speakerphone
+ Front panel backlight does not turn on until you press a button
+ Lack of tactile buttons for dialing and text messaging
+ Voice command support with bluetooth requires pressing a side button
+ Fingerprint magnet

Review: The closest to perfect cell phone I've ever seen
by: Gregory G. Leedberg on date: April 6, 2007
Pros:
Beautiful design is the foremost feature of this phone. It's incredibly thin, and the shiny black with metal accented design looks both stylish and professional. The stylish but simple keypad is also great, compared to the gaudy, shiny metallic keys found on RAZRs and KRZRs. The keys have a great feel to them (although being flat, you can't feel the spaces between them). This phone feature beautiful, large screens on both the outside and the inside.

Reception is better than most phones I've seen as well, with fewer calls cut-off, and incredibly good sound quality on both ends (almost landline quality). The "bars" it shows you seem to more accurately communicate the signal in the area as well. No more showing you five bars one second, then 2 bars the next without you ever moving.

This phone also has great Bluetooth support (especially for a Verizon phone). Once connected with a computer through Bluetooth, you can transfer files such as images and music (which is a feature normally disabled). You can also do the standard functions such as use your computer as a speakerphone or use the phone as a modem.

The phone features a music player, which I don't use much, but it's nice to have and has decent sound quality.

Battery life is also much better than other phones I have tried. Obviously, different people use their phones different amounts so it's hard to say how long it will last for you, but I only have to charge about once a week, whereas with previous phones I had to charge about once every three days.

Cons:
The biggest con, by far, is the speakerphone. If you really, really need a speakerphone, this phone isn't for you. It has one, but it is pretty quiet. You certainly could not use it in a car. You could potentially use it indoors at a desk (I do occasionally). But, if you're really serious about needing a speakerphone, you probably would want a standalone speakerphone device (there are lots out there for Bluetooth). The VX8600 speakerphone is not quite as good as the average cell phone's, but none of them are very good to begin with.

One other con is that it doesn't have a standard headset port, so you have to use an adapter. Not a huge deal, but a mild annoyance. This is becoming increasingly common with phones. Most others in this price range (such as the KRZR) have this same limitation.

Other thoughts:
Overall, an amazing phone. This is probably the phone for you, unless you really need a built-in speakerphone or you're going to be heavily using standard headsets. Other than that, it's clearly better than any other similarly priced Verizon phone at the moment.

Review: *BEWARE* Works VERY Badly with Motorola Bluetoooth Stereo Headsets (HT820)
by: disgruntled audiophile on date: April 5, 2007
I bought this phone from Verizon Wireless expecting excellent quality. I bought two brand new headsets for my girlfriend and I to enjoy with our new music phones and both work flawlessly with hers but not mine. She gets about 25 feet reception with her LG EnV phone with either HT820 but I get about 15. The worst part is that I bought the sleek and slim VX8600 to be my excersize companion but when I have the phone in either of my front pockets, the songs lose reception approximately every three or so seconds and last for about two to four seconds of dead air before replaying the music for another three or so seconds and then the cylcle repeats itself until you try everything in the book to work it out and then, finally, give up in bitter frustration. it is absolutely impossible to hear any song play flawlessly unless I am standing still and in normal positions. I have tried both headsets resulting in the same effect. the problem is not when you are standing still as much as when you are moving. My girlfriend and I like to play frisbee in the park after work where I discovered the problem. I could not even listen to one song without interruption in 45 minutes of frisbee when I first bought it. I did get to see my girlfriend enjoy good performance with a smile on her face as she listened to music and played frisbee. I was so frustrated, I returned the phone thinking there was something wrong with it. Verizon Wireless customer service fed me hot air that it wasnt supposed to be that way but I could tell he didn't was not familiar with how bluetooth works. I ended up getting a replacement VX8600 but the replacement, brand new, VX8600 did the same thing the next day, again on both headsets while frisbee'ing, which has become the true test for a good bluetooth stereo music phone. LG customer support does not let you speak with technicians and customer support was not aware of this issue and did not have any helpful suggestions other than to keep trying new phones or headsets...I had that info already before I even called.

Im still not sure which brand stereo headset will work with the VX8600. The phone looks good and, otherwise, seems like an attractive buy, but dont be fooled into thinking it will perform with your HT820 stereo headset from motorola! I still can't believe all this advertisement for VZW music and phones revolutionizing the all-in-one market, but this appears, to me, to simply be not the case. It is too quirky, too buggy. PS, I am a Quality Control technician for a software company that provides the music software for Verizon Wireless and other service providers.

Review: This is an awesome phone
by: J. L. Cook on date: April 1, 2007
When I found I was eligible for a free upgrade from Verizon I started looking at the available phones. I felt the need for something slim and sexy in my life and starting looking at the Motorola RAZR but the reviews weren't that great. On the other hand, the reviews for the VX8600 were all great so I paid an extra $29. to get it. Figured if I was going to live with it for the next 2 years, I might as well get one of the best available.

So far I've been very pleased with it. I had picked up a 1 gb micro-SD card and used my card reader and Windows Explorer to copy music from my computer. 210 songs so far, and lots of room for more. I also picked out a few pictures, resized them and copied them to the card to use for wallpaper. Piece of cake and no special cables or software required.

It's nice having my favorite music available anytime. The camera works fine, although I never used the one on my old phone much and probably won't use this one much either, but it's nice to have it available.

The only negative I have about this phone is the speakerphone. I got my wife an LG VX5300 and the speakerphone on it has a dedicated button right on the keypad and the speaker works great and is simple to use. If the VX8600 had that it would be perfect.

If you're in the market for a sexy new cellphone, you should definitely look at the VX8600.

I absolutely loved my new LG VX8600, it has all the features that I wanted, not having any problems so far. Really slim and light weight and very elegant. I especially loved the smart voice recognition that I'm using to call my friends. I'm very satisfied with my choice

Review: Better Than a Razr
by: RonMACDADDY on date: March 19, 2007
Great Phone! I just purchased this phone because my Motorola e815 was stolen and I had to replace it. I first tried the new Razr but took it back because the earpiece volume was too low (even at maximum level). I work in an environment where it switches from loud to quiet all of the time & I need a phone that can vibrate and ring simultaneously and this phone does it perfectly. The Verizon Razr did one or the other but not both. TheRazr is disabled on the Verizon version & not the TMobile or Cingular versions.

The size of this phone is perfect. I don't want to walk around looking like a dorky "trekkie" with a phone clipped on my belt. This phone fits perfectly in the small coin pocket of my Levis and is not bulky at all in dress pants.

The Music player on the external speaker is a lot better than my e815 and is easier to control with the phone closed because of its external controls.

Verizon did not disable OBEX on this phone so I can send files back and forth wirelessly via bluetooth on my MAC os X 10.4.9.

Cons: The data/charger cable is propietary and not standard as on the Razr. On the Razr, I could us a standard USB mini to charge and communicate with the phone. iCal & Address Book do not sync up using iSync. I had to use my wifes e815 phone to sync up all of my old contacts and went to Verizon to transfer to my LG and I am now using Verizons internet back up contact application.

I would definately recommend this phone.

Review: An improvement
by: N. Burke on date: March 16, 2007
I loved the music and picture features on my chocalate phone but never got very good reception. No one could hear me on that phone. Long story short, the phone I ended up replacing the chocolate phone with is this one. LG VX8600 is an improvement and I've had no more problems with reception or clarity in calls.

The large outside display and large inside display are excellent. The inside display is 176 x 220 color display and full 16-bit color. The outside display is fullcolor 160 x 128. With the music playback controls on the front cover, it's easier to play my music and Bluetooth makes it easy for hands-free calling.

Built-in USB makes it easy to connect to a computer. I had no problems getting it to work with either, for a pleasant change.

The only thing I wish for is a better camera. Cell phones have been stuck with 1.3 Megapixel cameras for what seems like forever. It can't be that much more to include a better camera phone.

Review: AWESOME!!
by: on date: March 8, 2007
As a 13 year old, I find that many phones just don't keep up with the "hype" of modern technology when I'm at school. This phone is nothing like that. It has just about everything the RAZR has, but is also has some things that the RAZR lacks. For one, there are external touch-sensitive music player controls on the front. You can actually change the sensitivity from "low" to "super". Another advantage is that you can change the wallpaper on the large (internal) screen to display something, and you can show something else on the small (external) screen. You can also choose from an animation as the wallpaper. There is a 1.3 megapixel camera, which takes very decent photos.

I recommend this phone to any kid who is interested in a RAZR-looking phone but with more features.

Review: Great phone!
by: pm444 on date: March 4, 2007
This is by far the best cell phone I've ever owned. My last two phones were Motorola, and while they were perfectly good phones, this one is a huge step up. What first caught my attention was the outstanding quality of the displays, both the large, high-resolution inside display, and the much smaller but very clear external display. Then there's the sleek and clean-cut form factor. The shiny black surfaces with minimum silver accents remind me of my black iPod, and while both do show fingerprints, it's not that big a deal. I love the small size of this phone. It easily slides into a pocket without being obtrusive.

The sound quality for voice calls is excellent, definitely as good as the Motorola phone I had, if not better. This phone offers several alternatives to the Verizon menu display, which was not available on my previous phone. While the basic structure is the same, I prefer the look and feel of the "arch" display option.

The camera on this phone is also excellent, for a phone, anyway. It may be that the high quality of the display makes photos look better, but whatever it is, these are the first pictures taken on a phone that I've ever wanted to upload to my PC.

It's also my first phone with a music player, and I've been pleasantly surprised at the quality of that as well. I bought the Verizon Music Essentials kit, which includes a CD with the USB cable drivers as well as the software to upload music from your PC, the USB cable, and wired stereo headphones. There is no driver yet for Windows Vista (Verizon says it will be available at the end of March 2007), so I had to synch the phone with my older Windows XP laptop, but it worked fine. You can use Windows Media Player 10 or 11 to rip CDs and then synch your music to the phone. One CD takes about 50 MB of space on the micro SD card in my phone. The phone has music player controls on the outside that glow red for a brief time after you start the player, then disappear. The sound is quite good, even with the relatively cheap headphones that came with the Music Essentials kit. The advantage of these phones is that they fit the headphone/synch output without using an adapter.

Review: Better than the Chocolate
by: John A. Studdard on date: February 28, 2007
Ok I wrote a really negative review about the Chocolate. As much as I hated the Chocolate I love the VX8600. It isn't slow like the RAZR either which I was worried about. Its slim and has about every feature you could want on a phone. Several friends have gotten it and do nothing but rave about it. I paid full retail value at $250 which I hated doing but after having the phone a few weeks I think it was well worth the money. I've never said that about a cell phone either. The battery life is good too. It usually lasts me a good 3hrs of straight talking and charges up in about an hour.

Review: A very practical phone
by: Suneil Kumar on date: February 27, 2007
If you're an economical person like me, you probably want a cell phone that's doesn't have all those fancy features more expensive phones have. You want a convenient cell phone that performs well, fits in your pockets easily, and looks nice. I've done my homework on consumer reports, cnet, and other reliable sources and this is the cell phone to get. Verizon's website has online discounts you can't get elsewhere in addition to the $100 credit you recieve after your contract expires.
Besides the minor complaints you've already read about, this really is the perfect phone for verizon customers. 5 stars.

Review: Outstanding Cell Phone

Thin is what I wanted because I carry it in my pocket. I am done with carriers, belt holders and all of that junk. Photo capability is the best I have seen. Smooth and sleek, easy to operate, and outstanding battery life.
To these people complaining about fingerprints, I say wash your hands, and if you still fingerprint it, rub it on your shirt!!

Review: A very good phone
by: HIPPY MAC on date: February 23, 2007
I just purchased the LG 8600 on yesterday and I love the phone so far. I ended up purchasing the memory card and the music essentials kit because I was interested in saving some pictures and songs. So far the phone works pretty good. I had an LG 8300 previously that was just too bulky although the phone was superb as well. I'm currently an LG fan at the moment because I had so many problems with Motorola phones in the past.

My only gripe with this phone is that the speaker phone seems really low. I rarely use my phone overall but sometimes I do use the speaker phone function when driving but I'm not sure about using this phone's speaker phone while driving.

The buttons are a little slick but once you get used to them they are fine. I love the new options that LG has given this phone for the menu look. I also love the look of this phone. It's small and sleek. I have read many customers complaining about the smudging on this phone. My suggestion is to purchase a case for the phone. I normally buy cases for my phones because they protect them when you accidentally drop them. However, I guess most people want to show the look of the phone off since it is sleek.

I am extremely satisfied with this phone. It's lightweight, easy to use, & I only need to recharge the battery every 3 days. I highly recommend it if you are considering an upgrade soon. It has excellent capabilties in such a sleek and lightweight design! The only complaint I have is that the speakerphone is not loud enough. I am planning on getting a Bluetooth headset anyway which will eliminate the need to regularly use the speakerphone.

I love the look of this phone. The buttons are something to get used to, but that doesn't take long. The fingerprints on the front are noticeable, but if you really don't like it, you can buy these plastic films (off ebay) that are fitted to this specific phone. They protect from scratches and smudges - nice! I was really disappointed with the speakerphone on this. When you turn it on, it switches to the speaker on the outside of the phone and it's really not that loud. It's not even loud enough to use in the car while driving. I haven't used the music player yet, but I plan on buying a data cable and downloading from my computer. The screens on this phone are very large and very vibrant. The pictures look really good considering it is a phone. I haven't had any problems with the battery life. I'm on my third day without charging it. Overall a great phone with nice features!

This phone has everything you can ask for in a phone. Let's just start of with the look of the phone...it's very sleek and in your face. A bright front screen and a big screen when the phone is flipped open. The fingerprint thing is a little annoying, but if that's the only thing wrong with a phone you got a good deal. The features that this phone has are awesome. The micro sd slot is great for storing music and anything else you might want. i.e. pictures or ring tones. The music playback is pretty good, it volume doesn't go up very high, but it's still loud enough to drowned out outside noise. Also, like the controls on the front of the phone, so you can control your music with the phone closed. The camera/video is by far better then any phone I have ever had. 1.3 mega pixels is pretty darn good for a phone. The zoom on it is also surprisingly good. Overall I highly recommend this phone and at this price it's hard to pass up.

Chic, solid, big display, ultra-thin, with the familiar LG VX template/setup.

Yes, fingerprints are a problem but that's not a big deal.

One drawback - there seems to be slight feedback from the speaker to the receiver. That may be just my unit or it may be a design problem. It's also not a big deal but could be depending on how much you use your cell phone.

Definitely recommended. Will be keeping this one for sure!

This is the best phone that I have owned. It is a very easy phone to use, and has just about every bell and whistle you want. I highly recommend this phone.
